VeraLease™

Solar with zero capital investment

We invest in, develop, and own the solar asset on your premises.

Under VeraLeaseᵀᴹ, Avera Energy deploys the capital, develops the system, and retains ownership throughout the agreement. You purchase the electricity generated at a fixed, pre-agreed tariff that is typically lower than the grid rates from day one. This model is suited for organisations seeking immediate cost savings and sustainability benefits without committing capital.

VeraOwn™

Full ownership. Long-term value.

VeraOwnᵀᴹ provides complete ownership of your solar asset from commissioning, giving you full control over performance, savings, and long-term value creation.

Avera Energy manages the entire process, including design, regulatory approvals, engineering, construction, grid connection, and ongoing maintenance, with performance guarantees aligned to the systems we deliver.

Navigating Malaysia's Solar Landscape

Malaysia provides two regulatory pathways for commercial and industrial solar adoption. The right scheme depends on your system size, energy consumption pattern, and whether you intend to export surplus generation to the grid.

As a SEDA-registered solar PV Service Provider, Avera Energy advises on the optimal pathway and manages the full application and approval process on your behalf.

Solar for Self-Consumption (SelCo)

SelCo is a programme regulated by the Energy Commission (Suruhanjaya Tenaga) that allows businesses to generate and consume solar energy entirely on-site, without exporting to the national grid.

SelCo can also be paired with a battery energy storage system to extend the benefit of solar beyond daylight hours.

Best suited for businesses with:

  • High consistent daytime consumption
  • 24/7 operations
  • Limited appetite for grid export administration

Solar Accelerated Transition Action Programme (Solar ATAP)

Solar ATAP is Malaysia’s current grid-export solar scheme, effective from 1 January 2026 and administered by SEDA.

For non-domestic consumers, the capacity limit is set at 100% of maximum demand or 1 MW, whichever is lower. Solar ATAP operates on a 10-year contract, after which the system reverts to self-consumption only. Capacity is allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

Best suited for businesses that:

  • Generate solar exceeding daytime consumption
  • Wish to receive grid offset credits for surplus energy exported
